EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2026
As your insurer, Allshores is seeking to offer the coverage you need, and take practical steps to help manage the rising cost of healthcare and its impact on premium rates.
From June 1st, 2026 we will offer zero co-pays for some of the most expensive drugs prescribed when they are filled at a pharmacy that is in the Allshores pharmacy network. The only exception will be if a generic version of a brand drug is available.
This programme covers a small number of specialist medications (listed below), which equate to roughly 3% of all prescriptions.
Working to relieve financial hardship for our most in-need members
Many of these drugs are used to help treat serious conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and cystic fibrosis. Patients on these medications prior to June 1st, 2026 had to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket, as coverage was 80%. This was a significant hardship we wanted to address. Through our pharmacy network, they now have zero out of pocket cost.
Pharmacies in the Allshores pharmacy network
At this time, the network includes all The Phoenix Stores pharmacies. There are nine locations:
- The Phoenix Centre, Hamilton
- Woodbourne Chemist
- Clarendon Pharmacy
- King Street Pharmacy
- Collector’s Hill Apothecary
- Paget Pharmacy
- Warwick Pharmacy
- Dockyard Pharmacy
- Hamilton Pharmacy
How this benefit for high-cost, specialist medications helps us all
Having a single pharmacy source these high-cost medications for our members enables us to leverage greater purchasing power and secure more competitive pricing. This helps reduce the overall cost of these medications to your health plan and forms part of our broader efforts to manage rising healthcare premiums.
Please remember, this only impacts about 3% of all prescriptions
The other 97% of prescriptions (drugs that are NOT on the list below) can be purchased from your pharmacy of choice as usual, with no change to your coverage.
Your care remains our priority
Where there are special medical circumstances, exceptions may be considered. Please email us at [email protected].
How coverage works
For these medications listed below:
- Members are encouraged to fill these prescriptions at in-network pharmacies (see above for the list).
- When filled at a network pharmacy, members will benefit from zero copay, unless being prescribed a GLP-1 for weight-loss which is covered at 80%.
- Members can choose to fill these medications at other pharmacies in Bermuda. However, those pharmacies will be considered out-of-network, and coverage will be 50% or per the member’s Schedule of Benefits (which can be found our Member Portal)
Generic medications:
- When there are generic versions available of the branded drugs listed below, the generic version will be covered at 100% at any pharmacy.
- If there is a valid medical reason, as confirmed at the sole discretion of our medical director, that the brand version is preferred over the generic version, then the branded one will be covered at 100% within our pharmacy network.
For all other medications:
- Nothing changes. Members will still be able to continue filling all other prescriptions at any pharmacy in Bermuda with the same coverage they have today.
- Members should refer to their Schedule of Benefits for full details of their coverage.
The following medications will be included in this programme. Allshores will continue to monitor and review the medications and may add or remove drugs from this list. Pharmacies will be notified if any changes occur.
